Montserrat Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 I am looking to find the designers Fred and Julie Byrne. I found one of their patterns online and I want to legally cut it, i.e. buy it from them. I even bought an old book by them on Amazon, hoping the pattern would be in it. Unfortunately, that did not work out. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks Quote
Lucky2 Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Monti, isn't there any contact info on the book you bought, that info is usually on the books. You could do a google search for them, something might show up on that search. Len Montserrat 1 Quote
Montserrat Posted June 21, 2017 Author Report Posted June 21, 2017 Searched high and low. Nothing so far. :/ Quote
JOE_M Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Yea, I tried too, as a pair and individually. Rather disappointing as my google-fu is usually pretty strong. I didn't see much from the last few years but they are referenced in Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts from 7 years ago. Perhaps an email to their editor might provide a bit of info. Montserrat 1 Quote
WayneMahler Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I found one of their patterns in the Spring 2009 Scrollsaw Woodworking Crafts Magazine. Here is the information posted at the end of the article. Montserrat, lawson56 and NC Scroller 3 Quote

Montserrat Posted June 21, 2017 Author Report Posted June 21, 2017 And I got a response and Julie generously sent me the pattern. I could kiss you now, Wayne, but my husband would object. WayneMahler and dgman 2 Quote
WayneMahler Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Montserrat Your more then welcome. I doubt my wife would appreciate me in that situation. This village is built on others helping others. I enjoy the fact that I can help. Please post a photo of your finished project. Enjoy cutting it. Who knows maybe others will join it too Quote
meflick Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Glad you were able to find their site and that they gave you permission and the pattern to use. Make sure you show us what you do once it is completed. You have me curious now as to what it is! Montserrat 1 Quote
spirithorse Posted June 24, 2017 Report Posted June 24, 2017 Hi, Monti, I'm glad you got the info you needed and you got your contact with Fred and Julie Byrne. The reason for this post is to commend you on going the extra mile to consider acknowledging the designers and not just using their pattern because you found it free somewhere else. Your honesty and integrity, at least from this example, are truly commendable. God Bless! Spirithorse Montserrat 1 Quote
Roberta Moreton Posted June 24, 2017 Report Posted June 24, 2017 I went to that site, it was very cool! Montserrat 1 Quote

meflick Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 I saw your VW on one of the Facebook groups. I love it and sure anyone who has had one of those is going to love it. Thanks for sharing and going the extra mile to get the pattern from them. Quote
