heppnerguy
Well we are getting all moved into our new home in Arizona. It has been a little on the warn side but hey, it is Arizona you know. We got our new front room furniture today and our television and internet, as well as a phone put in today. My wife and son got all the walls decorated today and it is starting to feel like home. We really like the area we are in as there is about everything in the way of stores you can think of, unlike Heppner and surrounding area, unless you are willing to drive 90 miles to shop. I am starting on my shop now and the progress is a little slow but it will get done soon. I missed my wonderful family here in The Village and this is the first and only place I have gone to since I got my computer hooked up. We went to dinner and the temp at 4:30 was 111 degrees. The heat takes a lot out of one quickly here. We will be heading back to Oregon for a couple of weeks to take in the eclipse. This will be only the second total solar eclipse that I have ever witnessed and I do not want to miss it. Hope to be able to find some time to check out how everyone is getting along and see what you are all up to. I hope by the middle of next week I will get to have more time on line. Dick heppnerguy I have often wondered if it's difficult to cool a house when the temperature is that high. I feel it would be hard to cool a house here if it got to 111*. JOE_M
111 degrees. But they say it's a dry heat. That means you stay out too long and slowly turn into people jerky. No worries though, the monsoons will soon be upon us. That means it will still be 111 degrees but with much higher humidity so if you stay out too long you boil like a lobster in the pot until the evening thunderstorm hits and the temperature plummets all the way down to 107 and you have to grab a sweater to keep the chills away. tuner
Well they say getting there is half the fun. I've had to set up a new shops over the years and always thought of it as enjoyable, always planing to make it better and even succeeding sometimes. As far as heat -- here in South Texas we have our share. Glad to hear your getting all put together may as well enjoy doing it.
meflick
Good to see you up and with internet access Dick. Glad things seem to be going fairly well for you and the Mrs with the move. Hope you get things settled in nicely and enjoy it and get time to get in your shop soon. The eclipse is suppose to come fairly close to us and husband took the day off work to make sure we can see it together. Look forward to hearing more about your move and setup when you have time to share. Not sure I could handle that heat. hubby would probably like it - he's always cold - I'm always hot! We have 2 garages, one is a single car garage and the other is a double garage. I am using the double garage for my shop as we only have one car now. The double car garage has it's own heat pump for the air conditioning will be most welcome. I also bought a large fan for my shop that keeps the air circulating well. so far so good. it is 109 right now, outside Dick heppnerguy

JOE_M
Yes, the map says I'm in Azerbaijan but I'm really in Whetstone AZ- about 60 miles south of Tucson, 10 miles north of Fort Huachuca. Joe. Edit: If your garage is built for it you can install a solar powered gable fan that will help with the heat but not raise your electric bill.
