trackman
I picked up a performaxa 16-32 drum sander today for $300. What do you think? Great shape. Edited June 25, 2017 by trackman Lucky2 and lawson56

JOE_M
Do you mean 16/32? That's about what I paid for my used one a few years ago. They're a great help if you have a constant need for extra thin stock. I bought a kit from Grizzly that converted it to hook & loop so I can switch very quickly between 80 grit for quick stock removal, and 120 for final smoothing. NC Scroller
Great tool to prepare stock before cutting. I would not recommend sanding delicate fret works after cutting. Just a bit too aggressive for that.

There are 4 boards 8'x16"x1" of cherry. Also walnut, oak, poplar, ash of different sizes. I tried out the drum sander and it works great. The dust collector isn't as load as I though it would be. I do all of my sanding before I cut out a pattern. After cut I will use sanding mop or light hand sanding to get fuzzies. Karl S

dgman
Hey Del, that wood looks pretty crummy. Send it to me and I'll get rid of it for you
Woodmaster1
Nice score on the wood and drum sander. A drum sander is the last thing on my tool wish list.
