charlycuervo Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Hi everyone, this is my first post and I wish to show You an unfinished project. It's made in 2 mm (about 1/64") thick silver and measures 3" width by 4" high. I'm still thinking how to finish it... I hope you like it. Greetings from Argentina. Quote
grampa Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Wow Carlos that is great if it was mine I would leave the shadowed areas dull and polish the highlights, A thick frame and a velvet backer . once again great job .........Paul Quote
Vector01 Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Great cut. I'm guessing that was done on a scroll saw. I would polish the silver, spray with clear laquer (to prevent tarnishing). Maybe a red velvet backer and a dark walnut frame (my 2 cents). Quote
Marshall Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Fine work , never seen this done on metal .............. Quote
charlycuervo Posted May 7, 2010 Author Report Posted May 7, 2010 Thank you all for your messages, I'm sorry , I made a mistake, 2 mm is about 1/16". It's polished (is this the wright word??) but you can't see cause the picture is made with a scanner, not a camera. I promise to post a better one. I like velvet idea, thanks. P.S.: It's made with a jewelry saw, cutting by hand. Quote
toolbeltman Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 Nice work Carlos...and yes "polished' is the right word...Thanks for sharing your work with us.. Quote
frieke Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Wow! This looks great, I like it! And as Vector say, red velvet and a dark frame would be very nice! Quote
