Dan Posted July 28, 2017 Report Posted July 28, 2017 I met Gerald several years ago then found out he lives 1/10th of a mile from me. We talked a few weeks ago and found out he has a hobby... he catches moles. I invited him over and he caught 3 moles in 4 days. Our yard has been mole-free for over 2 weeks now. I made him a Bluebird house to show my appreciation. It's Eastern red cedar. Lucky2, Phantom Scroller, Blaughn and 4 others 7 Quote

Scrolling Steve Posted July 28, 2017 Report Posted July 28, 2017 Nice Birdhouse Dan !......Tell Gerald if he is in N.C. I could use his help wit some Moles! Quote
Scrappile Posted July 28, 2017 Report Posted July 28, 2017 Great looking bird house. I bet he liked it, the birds will like it even more. For moles. I whittle a whirl-gig that consists of a propeller mounted loosely on the front of stick 1x1 about a foot long. Put a rudder on it, metal coffee can lids worked great, but you just can't get them any more. I mount this on top of a stake, Loosely so it can turn with the direction of the wind, and stick the stake in the ground. When there is a breeze the prop turns the whole thing rattles somewhat. Does not kill moles but it drives them away. I have a couple of these in my garden, they have been there twirling away for years. No Moles. Fun to make, fun to watch and they work. Quote

wombatie Posted August 3, 2017 Report Posted August 3, 2017 We don't have Moles in Australia but I was talking to a friend in England and he dug one up when he was digging his garden, he said he didn't know who was more surprised him or the Mole. Looks great Dan, your friend and his feather friends will love it. Marg Quote
