Commision work

I had a guy a work approach me about cutting something for him to give his fiancée. So he told me some ideas he had. I created some patterns from his ideas and he picked one. I still need to finish it but here it is all prepped to finish. I cut this out of some 1/4" purpleheart left over from another project that I was waiting to find a use for.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I found the hands to have many fragile areas and it took forever to cut them out. It is actually one cut around all the fingers but I had to not do that as some of the fingers are very fragile. I actually cut the hands out of 1/8 baltic birch ply a couple of times before attempting the purpleheart as I knew it was fragile and those test cuts enabled me to learn how to cut them. Sometimes it is worth a few sacrificial runs on cheaper wood rather than ruin a more expensive piece of wood.
