How did you achieve the contrasting letters, and is the bark stuck on?

The main piece is pine with the bark still on, I then cut the letterring on a piece of Black Cherry and after all inside cut were done, I taped the cherry on top of the pine with double faced tape and cut the outside at an angle of 3 degrees.

Finish applied is three coats of Tung Oil

The word "Beautiful" keeps popping up in one form or another.  It certainly fits.  The is also very unique and well done.  The recipients will treasure that.
