Popular Post DWSUDEKUM Posted August 14, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted August 14, 2017 I have been seeing handles for drinking glasses but had not seen one for the standard sized Dixie Cups. You know those Red, Blue , Yellow ones. The ones you see a lot at parties. Well I designed a holder for one. I made it out of some scrap 3/4 BB ply. Sealed it with Teak Oil and then shellac. Roly It was made from 3/4 ( 19mm ) BB Ply. See the attached pattern. Basically it is a very simple 3 piece construction. A top Ring, a handle , and a bottom ring. Hardest part is to ensure that the sections fit snugly together. DW cupholder.pdf Quote
lawson56 Posted August 15, 2017 Report Posted August 15, 2017 Now By Golly,that is 1 Cool Handle.Awesome job!!What a Doggone Neat idea. Quote
Scrappile Posted August 15, 2017 Report Posted August 15, 2017 (edited) DW, Looking again at you great idea. I'm thinking you make up a few and go sit in a coffee shop like Starbucks, you would become a very popular man. You could make a couple different sizes to fit the sizes of cups they sell. Coarse someone would pick it up start having them punched out in different colors of plastic and make a fortune off your idea! Edited August 15, 2017 by Scrappile Quote
edward Posted August 15, 2017 Report Posted August 15, 2017 Clever Idea, they should make good sellers. edward Quote

oldhudson Posted August 15, 2017 Report Posted August 15, 2017 Like others they looks super. Well done. One additional comment. Parties I go to generally provide alcohol for consumption. A shellac finish, for all it's great qualities, doesn't do well with if people spill booze on it. However if the party goers want Diet Coke instead of Rum and Coke, the handles should be fine. Quote

As an aside to what dgman said about the hosting site - here is an example of what comes up when i click on your photos to look at them better. (I only took a partial screen shot. ) Quote
oldhudson Posted August 16, 2017 Report Posted August 16, 2017 Just out of curiosity did you scroll those centers out or drill them or some other process? Quote

(I only took a partial screen shot. ) It must be dependent on ones location. I get adds for dating women in my town and for foreign women. It would not be good if my wife was standing behind my chair just looking at a project! Quote
