Iguanadon
With one week to go til my big event "Lazy Daze", I have what should be very close to my official tally of what I have cut the past 3 months in preparation for the event. Next week is devoted to cutting kids puzzles and I've included the number I plan on cutting. See attached for the final count... it's pretty crazy... and a picture of them all... My goal was to have 500... I'm a bit of an overachiever at times... or just a fool... Now I just need 1/2 of 1% of the attendees of the event to buy a puzzle from me to hit my sales goal. I'll start a thread next week and we'll have a contest to guess how many I sell. The 10 day weather forecast looks fabulous as of right now. Hope it stays true. Here is the breakdown of the duplicates I'm taking... Top 12 items I have 10+ of each. SEVEN HUNDRED PUZZLES... SCROLLSAW703
looks like youre busy, Iggy! best of luck to you, brother! I just got a call from Nicole. She is slowly working back into the office. Sounds like they've figured your issue out & getting it taken care of. We were discussing some of the very same things on my saw. poupster2
Iggy, This is fantastic work! How do you keep your puzzles together? Do you use plastic wrap of some sort? Rubber bands? masking tape on the back? Thanks

The ones I put on display, I put in a tub, laying them flat in layers on cardboard. I can get about 100 of them in this tub. I used to buy them from Amazon, but they stopped carrying the size I use... 9"x12". They're open on one end. Slide the puzzle in and use heat gun to close it and shrink it around the puzzle. I guess I'll need to do another video soon. :-) https://www.papermart.com/flat-shrink-bags/id=4937

Phantom Scroller
Great work Iggy love the videos. I've now got the heat shrink bags and heat gun and just bought a price gun so I'm up and running on bagging things up now, thanks for you help on bags etc. Hope you do well at the show. Roly PS: One more question I understand the paint part for stands is there a reason you oil them all and not leave them dry to allow the customer the choice to paint oil or varnish could save a lot of time. Hey Roly, I've thought about selling them un-oiled, but they look soooo much better when they're oiled that I'd be concerned they'd be less attractive and wouldn't sell as well if they were dry. The majority of them are purchased by people for display purposes, not for kids to play with. Busy, busy, busy! bb I expect to have a couple dozen left over. LOL Nah, my goal is to sell 200-250, but I simply don't want to run out of anything so I went overboard. I don't want to have to say "Oh, sorry, I don't have any more XYZ breed of dog with me..." My experience so far is that puzzles are purely an impulse buy... if I don't have it, they won't order it. Hey Kevin, I have a vaccum hooked up under the table of the saw that runs out to a Dust Deputy and shopvac. It works well, probably capturing 75% of the mess. Here it is beside my portable AC unit that I have blowing into the cutting space.
meflick
Awesome amount of hard work shown there Scott. Good luck on the big show and I hope it goes well. I suspect that you will sell much more than your goal of 200-250. Plus, the bonus is, even if you don't you have plenty ready for the next Farmer's Market or show you go to! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to hearing about your big event next weekend.
