Only my second day of scrolling and have learnt that my saw and I are a team, each with their own job. His is to cut the wood, mine is to guide it, and we are useless at each others job!! One question I have is the sitting position. With the saw on my workbench I was too low, now its on an old computer desk and I think its a tad to low! Guess I'll get it right eventually>

Hi Malc glad to see your going through a bonding session with your new saw treat her like a lady and she won't let you down, Why not get a adjustable stool there a lot easier to adjust plus try tipping the saw towards you so that you are looking down at your work and get a load of cheep wood and just cut at different speeds, with the grain, against the grain, straight lines , circles , you will soon learn what she can do..........Paul :)

One of the things I did was take a comfortable chair, drop my shoulders to a comfortable level and measure from the seat to the bottom of my elbows. I used that distance then to position myself in relation to the scrollsaw table. I added about 2 inches to that measurement because you want your arms slanted up (not down). That is then the distance from the scrollsaw table to the top of the seat of your chair. I have been using that for a while and its pretty comfortable.
