Popular Post WayneG
Last week on Thursday I felt like making a bracelet as I don't wear a watch anymore with the fact that I carry a work and personal smartphone . These are a mix of domestic and exotic. Wood Made a mini one for my 5 year old son cause you know he has got to have one of everything I cut The pics suck cause I lost daylight. WayneG
Been making rings as well Kevin, both cut out rings and bentwood rings. Must get back at the bentwood rings, they are really spectacular but take allot of practice...

The way I seem to go I bet I will make 40-50 of these before I get tired of making them for a while. The trick is cutting my stock thin enough. My table saw is not commercial\ industrial grade... Lots of smoke.... Good thing I wear a half mask Edited August 23, 2017 by WayneG wombatie

Scrappile
Look nice. Are you bracelet done by bending wood? If so do you steam bend, or just use heat? Edited August 27, 2017 by Scrappile

They are cut out and not bent. I have dabbled with bentwood rings these would be too thick to bend for my skill set \ tools Scrappile

WayneG
1 hour ago, Scrappile said: Really beauties! Thanks scrapple, they really are coming out better and better. I just glued together a piece of Torified Maple sandwiched by maple veneer and aromatic western red cedar. I am curious to see how well the veneer shows through after sanding. Can't wait to get an oscillating spindle sander and these will become much quicker to finish....
WayneG
I figured I would try a bracelet cut from corian, turned out pretty good for the first attempt....
WayneG
So I have fixed the shape of these bracelets, I now have templates for different sizes also. Here are a couple of my latest. I absolutely love the end grain one. I have made about two dozen so far. What is frustrating is that some veneers won't bond as I presume that spieces of wood requires a certain type of glue... Photos also do not do these justice, they look much better on person
meflick
These are beautiful Wayne. Can you give a Newbie like myself some more "details" on how one goes about making a bracelet? Or at least how you are doing it? Details/photos would be appreciated. I mainly ask because it think it would be great gifts to make for family perhaps. Thanks for sharing these.
