Popular Post rdatelle Posted August 30, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted August 30, 2017 Well I finally got around to finishing this project by Steve Good. A lot of cutting. Almost gave up a couple of times. Those wheels were the hardest. I made it out of Walnut and Maple base. I think I will keep this one for myself. jollyred, lawson56, penquin and 10 others 13 Quote
orangeman Posted August 30, 2017 Report Posted August 30, 2017 I like your train engine!!!!! Nice job. There are 3 domes on top of the engine. I know what two of them are: steam dome and sand dome. What is the third dome for? bb Quote
meflick Posted August 30, 2017 Report Posted August 30, 2017 Awesome work and if you almost gave on up on it then I think it will be a long while before I attempt it. Love the walnut. I too think its a "keeper". Thanks for sharing. Quote

Rob Posted August 31, 2017 Report Posted August 31, 2017 Very nice Ralph! That looks like some pretty thick walnut too or is it cut in sections? Rob Quote
lawson56 Posted August 31, 2017 Report Posted August 31, 2017 Now that is a Super Fine Loco!.Yea I agree those Wheels are a Nightmare. You did an Excellent job. Quote
rdatelle Posted August 31, 2017 Author Report Posted August 31, 2017 Rob, it's cut in sections. 3 pieces. The middle is 1 inch thick walnut and the sides are 1/4 inch walnut. I stacked cut the two outside pieces so they would match and then glue them all together. I dipped the whole thing in mineral oil which made it easy to seal. Quote
Gordster Posted August 31, 2017 Report Posted August 31, 2017 Fantastic job Ralph..be proud of this one Quote
