Enlarging Pattern

How do I go about enlarging a pattern. I have one printed out but need to make it larger. Is there a program or something available to do it. I have tried on my own in GIMP but did not succeed. I can get it larger on the screen but when I print it there is no change. Probably a simple question for someone with some computer smarts, but I'm not one of those people. Thanks in advance for any help.

This is how I always print mine. Some folks like using resizing programs too. I've never tried it, but I hear it works well. Here's a list of software. Just look for the resizing software.
