crupiea
I cant stand spirals. tried them but just not my thing. some people get great results with them though. I use jewelers blades, they are about 54 teeth per inch. Mainly 2/0. They are cheap too, a gross on amazon is $18. The downside is they dont have reverse teeth so you need to sand the backs but thats not that big of a deal. Its worth it for the smooth cuts and the ability to really get tight with the tiny turns. So I bought some more Flying dutchman UR blades and I'll wait rather than ruin the job. So see the worst cut I've ever made he didn't shepherd me on this one. Is there anyone else feels this way. Phantom Scroller
Well it seems they are a bone of contention after all, so it's not me. What a relief. Roly
ScollSaw Slasher
My biggest problem with spirals is that I break them where I haven't broken a flat blade in a long, long time. I guess I'm just prone to force the issue when using them.
heppnerguy
Spirals can be a challenge to those that use flat blades but I have worked with my spirals and found it did not take long to get a feel for them. I don't use them for the straight lines but with a pattern with lots of small fret work in them. the spiral is truly king Dick heppnerguy
wombatie
If I used a spiral blade on something like that, I would give you a run for your money Roly because I can bet mine would look worse than that. I hate the things. Marg
Rolf
The saw that you are using with the spiral blade also makes a difference. especially when you are trying to sneak up on a small detail. If your saw has a very aggressive front to back motion it will be more difficult to control the cut than if you have an almost vertical stroke.
