Two Plaques for family birthdays

I finished the birthday gifts for my daughter-in-law and son-in-law.  These were a total surprise to both of them and the expressions on their faces were a gift to me.  What a blessing it is to be able to pour your time into a gift that really matter.

Both of these were done in cherry with Watco oil followed by wipe-on poly.  The Police plaque finish gave me all kinds of problems and required significant sanding to even out the finish before the final two finish coats.  I think I have finally figured out how to work with this finish but I need to reserve that claim for the next plaque.

When the recipient is blown away by their gift it makes everything we do worthwhile.  Excellent work on both Bruce, well done.
