Have you tried searching on Pinterest? I just did a google search and found this site and thought maybe you could contact the person who made this one. Just an idea.

I think I might have found it. Go to Wilckens woodworking.com. He has the pattern for sale for $24.00. The number is WW-0191

the pattern is done by Wickens or name similar to that I have the pattern but am not home at this time and If I was could not find it since it is packed for a move. I met the designer many years ago at a Scroll saw picnic sponsored by Sloan's. I was not successful in making it correctly but did have something when I was finished.

Heppnerguy,  The pattern is in the Fall 2017 issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts.

Thanks for mentioning that Ejay. It caused me to go looking through my magazines and I suddenly realized that I am missing two issues. I gave the publisher a call and they are sending them to me. FOR FREE. As in NO CHARGE. Great outfit.

Thanks just went into my living room and found the fall issue. Guess it was intercepted by the Mrs and she didn't see anything she wanted so it got buried in papers and other magazines. Definitely want to cut this when I get the chance.

Wow you guys are the best.. I went back to find my post a couple of days later and could not find it and thought I must have done something wrong and it did not get posted. So I started making my own pattern but  now I do not need to do that as I should have that magazine. i can not believe I  missed it in the magazine. I am excited to start cutting it.

It turned out that I could not use the pattern in the magazine because it was not complete enough for me. Thanks to Ray I was able to get their phone number and I did call them but the connection was so poor I could not place me order. I just might mail it to them instead.

Again, thanks to everyone for helping with this problem

I did find a reference to Ray and Dan Wilckens but when I googled their names I was never able to make the connection. I have mailed my order to them and I expect to receive the pattern within 10 days via snail mail.  Thank for your help, John  I really appreciate you taking your time to get me the information. I am excited about starting to work on it

No problem. The world lost a great talent in 2011 when Ray passed away. His son still keeps the dream alive about getting scrolling into the hands of the young and keeping the fine art of crafting going. Their work over the years is special and I had the chance to meet them several times over the years at scrolling events and some of the nicest people you want to meet. I have many of their patterns including that one but have as of yet gotten to it. Good luck with the project and do post photos.

I did take the time to read about Ray. I had never run across his name until I saw his chess pattern and was unable to find him by googling his name. Luckily I found it because of all you wonderful people here on the Village. I found Ray's story and time of his life to parallel mine and was hoping to be able to talk with his daughter or son about him. That did not work well .  But I finally got on their web site and downloaded the order form and mailed my pattern request in to them. I am in hopes that I will receive my pattern either today or Monday so I can get started on the chess board. I love to support the loved ones of people like Ray who keep their talents alive for others and I will buy patterns from them, even if I have no desire for the pattern at the time, in hopes it will keep the family encouraged to continue  to pass on to others the work of the deceased.

Thanks again for your help and I will post my progress on this board as I go along. I am very anxious to start on it. It looks like the outcome will be worth the effort for sure.

Ray beat me to it.  I think Gator made it and it is beautiful.

Here it is, the one Gator did, picture is in his Album:

Gator's piece is stunning indeed. I received the pattern yesterday. It looks really challenging. I hope I will be able to do this one. I doubt I can do as well as Gator but I am rolling up my sleeves and diving in. It looks a lot more challenging that the wooden gear clock...Wish me luck
