New Iggy Offerings... Name Signs

Alright, I'd love everyone's thoughts and feedback.  Looking into doing names... my artist for this is... Mrs. Iggy.  Orangeman and I were discussing a couple of days ago and I had happened to see a video online recently showing the design being done in Inkscape and Mrs. Iggy is a computer graphic artist so I challenged her to learn how to do it.  She watched some tutorial videos and she was off and running.

I'm imagining coming up with maybe 6 different style/fonts and offering as a solid piece or as a puzzle.  I actually prefer the solid piece option, but since I sell puzzles I figured I'd offer it as an option.  I cut these 4 this morning and I plan on displaying them at my 2 day event this weekend and see if there's any interest.

Iggy

Those shold be very popular Scott !......Would you and  mrs. Iggy offer the pattern upon request !?!

Hi Steve, yes, as a matter of fact, that's kind of the next step in the plan is to offer her services to make custom name patterns for $5 each.  I really like the JAVIER example with the randomness of the letters.  She has a great eye for stuff like that and I think people will be very happy with how she lays out the lettering in each name if they choose that style.

You never seem to stop to amaze me, they look great, but watch out you may be opening a another whole can of letters (worms). You may have to tell your boss that you can only give him a half day because people requesting special names, more cutting, RJ

what program does she use for pattern making?  Thx RJ

I like the puzzle idea best, especially the curved style. I would think they would sell pretty good. I would think you would have to take custom orders though or keep a lot of different names on hand.

It will be all custom orders.  I'll display samples and let customers choose their style.

If anyone is interested in any, Mrs. Ig can use some practice :-)  $5 per name.

She's using Inkscape.  She found some You Tube tutorials, watched a few of them the night before last and whipped out these two patterns for me as a test.

Stepping out of the box a bit aren't you? You might have to quit your real job and do this full time.

I keep dreaming of that... but my company is foolish enough to pay me way too much so I can't walk away from it.  If they get rid of me though... I'll consider it.

I really like both.

I would think a price per name plus per letter.  I do keychains and my daughter is a principal at a school which had a very multi national teaching staff.  The longest was 9 and the normal was 7.

Thanks Don, I figure I'll see how much interest there is and adjust pricing as needed.

First test, today's event... no interest.  :-D
