New saws Hawk and DEWALT

Yesterday morning I got a call from the DEWALT authorized dealer and was told my replacement saw was in. I decided to play hooky from work yesterday afternoon and picked it up.  Went to my shop and got that saw hooked up and tested it. Everything works correctly on it. Just after I finished setting up that saw here comes the UPS truck with my new Hawk BM 26. Spent the rest of the day setting it up as well. It cuts great straight out of the box but has just a little vibration that I need to solve but nothing major. The biggest issue is that I have to get use to changing blades on the Hawk.

My plan is to use both saws. The DEWALT for thinner woods and the Hawk for thicker woods.

I plan on being in the shop most of the weekend but most likely not touch either saw hardly at all. I already have several intarsia projects cut ready to shape. Going to se how well my dust collection works on my flexible drum sander works.

i will let everyone know my opinion on the Hawk in a few weeks or so after I get used to it.

Doesn't look like I am having the issues that Iggy had or is having.

On the vibration side of things, this may or may not be your issue, but there is what Bushton refers to as the "Harmonic" range, where you can expect vibration increases over that range.  On my BM, it is around 5 and 6.  It smooths out as I crank the speed on up.  I stay clear of that zone.

I believe you are correct on this Harmonic range, I have mine speed set between 8 & 9 and i have limited to no vibration.
