hawkeye10
Got my Woodcraft wish book yesterday and it has a picture of a King scroll saw on the cover. So I guess Woodcraft is selling them. The King saw sure looks like an Excaliber to me. This is good because we can parts for our EX saws. Scrappile
You can get parts for your Ex from Seyco. Not sure Woodcraft carries parts for the machines they sell. It would be a good question to ask. It will be wonderful is this King is just like the Ex was. Great saw. And a great price.
WayneG
I just got notification in the mail yesterday that my 30" excelsior has been shipped from King's headquarters in Montreal on Sept 14th so the local regional sales rep should be bringing it to me anytime... I struck a deal to review the saw in a blog in exchange for a deep discount. My goal this weekend is to carve out some space in my garage for it... boulpat, OCtoolguy, SCROLLSAW703 and 1 other 2
orangeman
Anyone know how warranty repairs are handled on the King? Are there service centers throughout the USA or do you have to ship it back to King at big $$. bb
Scrappile
I emailed Woodcraft Woodcraft Customer Service Saturday with that very question. This is the answer I received. If indeed the saw is just like the Excalibur, Seyco has parts for it. 5:46 AM (1 hour ago) to me Thank you for your inquiry. The warrantee is two years. For parts and repairs you can contact Woodcraft first. If we are not able to supply the replacement parts then you would need to contact King Canada. If you have any other questions or comments please call 1-800-535-4486 or e-mail at tech@woodcraft.com Thanks, Kyle Meyer Edited September 25, 2017 by Scrappile NC Scroller
Mark1
Maybe Ray Seymore @ Seyco would be the guy to ask if his parts would fit. Somehow I just can't make sense of why a saw supposedly identical to the Excalibur is ignoring a former distributor with parts. Why not the 21"? I'll be interested in the review. I hope the review goes into detail about parts interchangeability. Mark
Scrappile
Mark, I don't know either except Seyco has their own saw now. They would be in direct competition with each other. Woodcraft sold the Ex and it was a good selling saw for them also. Maybe they got to King before Ray, maybe, maybe. Be interesting to know all the detail of how things came about. I do feel if this King is as advertised and at the price they are selling it, I think Seyco will have to come down on their price to compete. Mark Mark, maybe it has something to do with Seyco now having their own saw to sell, they may not even be interested in selling the King saw. Just because two things are supposedly identical, doesn't mean that the same distributor needs to be used. I think with it being sold by a different distributor is a good thing, it doesn't allow one distributor to control the price you have to pay.
