Dog show results

The dog show I've been looking forward to for a few months finally arrived, and... it was a TOTAL BUST.  What a waste of a day.  I won't be going back for day 2 after packing up 2 hours early today after selling 11 puzzles.  My worst event ever.  The owners/handlers of the dogs came in for their event piece, then left.

At least now I don't have to buy an RV and start traveling with the dog shows.  :-)

I have 3 weeks off before my next event and I'm looking forward to the down time.  I have plenty to make for the RibFest BBQ event, but it's all at a leisurely pace.

Sorry to hear about that Iggy.  Things like this happen though.  Might try visiting the Veterinarian hospitals and clinics in the area as their customers might purchase some of your puzzles as well.  Seldom does one place make or break a craft.  I have not had one where if I had just one kind of item that it would be in demand all the time. I have found that having a variety of styles helps.  Keep the faith though you do great work and folks will recognize it.

I would have thought a dog show would be the perfect place to sell as well ..... your hard learned lesson is a lesson for us all ......

And as for the RV??? ......

.... well .....

..... don't give up on it .....

..... a great way to see the country!!

Just doesn't get any better!!

Did you make your money back that the day costed you?  Would really suck if you didn’t.

Yeah, never any problem making a profit.  Usually only have to sell 2 puzzles to clear costs.  But I went in expecting to sell 100 puzzles over the weekend so it was a major letdown.  Can't hit a homerun every time at bat.

Sorry to hear that Iggy.  Now you are stuck with some of those unusual breeds too.  Still I know you pride yourself in having whatever people ask for.

My last show was cancelled due to poor weather so my first test of the dogs will be next Monday, a bank holiday here....

Fingers crossed!

I did a Octoberfest  a couple of miles from me They had Music, A Bark in the Park by the local Animal Shelters. It was a total disaster. That was the Third music fest I will not do anymore Craft events where they have Music ,food and Booze .People come to these for the free Music and leave there wallets at home. They do not come to buy anything but food and Beer. There are more commercial booths than Crafters Like Realters ,Roofers,Home repair, Windows ,Gutters, Colleges.Private schools. For now on it is strictly Craft Shows. One guy was spilling Mustard on my Pens from his Hot Dog.Talking about biting my tung.

I just had the opposite experience last Sat at an Oktoberfest event within a private community. Lots of invited guests by residents too. Beer, German food, Oompah Band and 50 vendors from mary kay to yours truly the puzzleman.

Fantastic sales for one day but the clientele is my target customer: wealthy educated grandparents(especially grandmothers) and parents.
