Hi everyone i Haven't posted anything in the last little while getting thing a takin care of around out home and my mother's as well before the winter season sets in on us. Be doing a couple pieces the last week or so. Did another cribbage board. I got to thank Russell (birchbark) for the playing card holder pattern. Use a piece of 2x4 for the center rubbed to grooves through it with the table saw and cut to to outside pieces out of 1/4" birch plywood and glued them on. And the salmon is made from 1/2" plywood with a 1/4" backer. its 66cm long.

Beautiful work all around. I really like that playing card holder - would be a great idea for my 90 year old father-in-law and their friends who play cards together.  Will have to give it some thought but think I would stay away from that detailed of a pattern on it. I remember when @Birchbark Russell helped you out with the pattern for that.  I am sure he will be thrilled to see it done. Thanks for sharing.

They are all nice projects.  I haven't played cribbage since the early 1970's but isn't that a pretty good hand showing??!

I think it's the highest hand in crib you can get 29 points I believe. someone can correct me if I'm wrong please.

Paul, there's two hands of cribbage cards there, 10 points in the back row and two maybe three in  the front row depending on what card was cut. I used to plat crib a lot years ago, there was a tournament most weekends. I got tired of it after awhile, and just quit playing.

Yes Gord the salmon is legal size for for most rivers around here 63cm to the v in the tail lol that was the size he wanted it lol. We had a little snow on the 11th but gone now. Temp wise where around -2 to +4 most days.
