Don't know why my family got an extra "s" on our name, might accentuate they type of people we are with the last three letters of the name?! Paul, maybe your relatives were Canadian at one time, we're known for using extra letters in some of our words. There's lots of examples, but the only one I can think of right now, is the word colour. We use a U in the way we spell it, compared to the American spelling. She asked a clerk for napkins and was directed to house wares. The clerk showed her napkins. My wife replied those are serviettes, I'm looking for napkins for a baby.
