Popular Post Scrappile Posted December 26, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) Pretty sure this is the last project I will finish this year. This is called "The Dutch Box", the pattern is from "Finescrollsaw.com". I reduced the pattern down to 85% of the original so it is about 14" l x 5"h x 4"w. I also planed the wood down to 3/16" thick. I cut it out of Cherry and lined it with Mahogany veneer. I stained the veneer that shows from the outside with a red Mahogany stain to give it more contrast. It took about 3 days to cut. I didn't stack cut, not sure why, I could have stacked the ends and the sides. Finished with three coats of spray shellac sanded then topped with 3 coats of Deft Semi-gloss. Gonzo Posted December 26, 2017 Report Posted December 26, 2017 Very nice! Looks like there are a few spots where you would hold your breath hoping you were cutting into scrap wood and not the pattern. Scrappile 1 Quote
