Scrappile
Holy cow, the scroll saw deal of the year! Except for a few flakes of paint on the motor, that baby looks brand new. CONGRATULATIONS! You even have the cover for it! When I got mine and saw how little the foot pedal is, I thought that will not do. But it is my favorite now. Much more solid than the bigger on I have on my Seyco. Great find. Great buy. OCtoolguy

jbrowning
Thanks Katie, Paul and Kevin, he even threw in a couple boxes of hardwood scraps of Walnut, Cherry, Maple and Oak. Can't wait to get into the shop and start learning how to use it. You've seen what came with it, does anyone have suggestions on what I might want to consider getting? I will need to figure a way of mounting a lamp to it, but not a Hegner lamp. That's a little out of my budget at the time. Thanks Jim Edited December 31, 2017 by jbrowning OCtoolguy

As far as a light, keep in mind you can build a stand for one you already have or get a gooseneck lamp and mount it to something nearby, it doesn't necessarily need to mount to the saw. I look forward to hearing about the saw once you start cutting with it. Edited December 31, 2017 by Iguanadon OCtoolguy
Iguanadon
Or, if you like the one on your DeWalt, rig something up so that it can mount in the hole on the Hegner. OCtoolguy
tonylumps
The only thing you need is the quick clamp.I thought it was a bit pricey. But after you use it a couple of times That feeling goes away .As far as the light. You have the bracket .To witch forth I had to buy LOL.Any clamp light that has a removable clamp bracket will fit.I found mine on amazon You may have to wrap some tape around the bottom stem to keep it snug. But the saw is a learning curve that you will enjoy for a long time.Lots of luck That saw looks like it has never been used. Just looked at the table again. Edited December 31, 2017 by tonylumps OCtoolguy
tonylumps
I just noticed Advance has a couple of new videos on you tube About the blade mounting system. OCtoolguy
Scrappile
Harbor Freight has a good light that will work for around $40 https://www.harborfreight.com/fluorescent-magnifying-lamp-60643.html use the 20% off coupon on their home page. Pull it off the clamp it has and it will fight right in the holder on your saw. OCtoolguy
Rockytime
Great deal! I saw that on craigs when it was posted. I purchased a Hawk in the Springs and another Hawk in Monument. Alas, my shop is full and overflowing. I did mount an led lamp on one hawk and then removed it. There was just enough vibration to look like a soft flickering florescent. Drove me nuts. Short trip. I mounted it on a shelf next the saw. Problem solved. Enjoy that saw! OCtoolguy
jbrowning
Hello everyone, has anyone of you use the zero clearance that came with my Hegner? OCtoolguy

I use zero clearance all the time. I used Hegner disc (the gray plastic) until I made a larger auxiliary table top. Now I make my own disc that are the same thickness as my aux top. jbrowning
Does this look right to you all? Is there a way to make it to where the blade is center on this disk? OCtoolguy
Scrappile
On the ones I make now, it is easy, I use a compass to draw the circle for the size disc I want. Coarse the drafting compass leaves a mark in the center. In the Hegner ones, I measured the diameter of the circle, set the correct distance for the radius and work a little to mark the center. I got close enough. I do not make a cut like is in the table top, and on my aux top I do not have that cut. It is easy enough to put the blade in with the zero disc removed then when I have the blade in the bottom clamp I put the disc down over the blade. Scrappile
No, that does not look right. Should be centered in the slot in the table. Is the table at 90 degrees to the blade? I am not expert enough to figure an adjustment, from looking at my saw. I guess loosen the nuts that hold the table on and see if the table can be moved over a little. Check the straightness of the upper and lower arms. And send the picture to Advance Machinery and ask them for guidance. They are helpful. And maybe some one on here can help. jbrowning
Thanks Paul, it sure didn't look right to me either. But man that saw sure does cut nicely. Yes the table is 90 degrees to the saw blade. After I get this dragon cut out (yes my first cut has to be one of my hardest puzzles haha.) I will see if I can figure out which nuts hold the table on the frame. OCtoolguy

I just moved it over to the light clamp on the Hegner and it fit perfectly. OCtoolguy
