Unfamilair Scroll Saw

I have no knowledge of this saw but, I liked this feature that they list:
Blade can be turned 90 degrees for infinite cutting length

I mentioned a long time ago on this forum that I thought that would be a nice
feature and at least one member of the forum acted like I was crazy and why would
I want to be able to do that (even though the same member admitted that they had bent
blades 90 degrees to perform the same function).

Thanks for sharing the link and God Bless! Spirithorse

I also know nothing of the saw.. it looks very similar to some other saws I've seen but cannot think of the brand of those saws or where I had seen them..

I believe I've read about another saw that could turn the blade 90 degrees too.. but again.. I don't remember where I seen or heard of that either...

That is basically the old Dremel saw. I would not recommend that saw. You get into problems with saws that can take pinned and unpinned blades. Stay away from them saws. Most people when they look for a saw do not realize the lack of room under the table to work the blade and the type of blade holders. That saw is tight under there. Now I am not telling you to spend big dollars on a professional saw but there are better choices out there. I have scrolled on the Ryobi saw and it is not one I would buy but alot better than that saw. Just an opinion and it is my opinion.

The Dremel 1800 series can switch blades positions.

Is anyone familiar with this scroll saw?

I can't  read the brand.

I've had many a good times on inferior saws and never regretted it.If you can stay with a brand name like dewalt, excaliber, hegner, etc. These are $500 and up scroll saws with creature features you appreciate.Up front blade tension,Top arm raises, table angles, accepts straight blades,Quite running ,parts availability,.Look on Craigs list or Offer up under scroll saw.Don't enter scrollsaw as you won't come up with any as on word.and get a used one of quality for what your paying new for and in 20" instead of 16".My 2 cents worth, lol.

A lot of companies just slap their brand on a these common saws.  Same exact saw as this  http://www.grizzly.com/products/16-Scroll-Saw-with-Flexible-Shaft-Grinder/G0735. Rikon and others have this exact model with different paint and labels.  Many more are built on this same platform without the flexible shaft attachment.

I suppose some project types might be ok with this kind of saw, and I'm sure these saws have their devout fans, but for me personally, the agony dished out by this basic design is only exceeded by Proxxon who has no equal in my opinion.

Can not believe the Grizzly is that expensive for that saw. Wow. You are seeing the same thing happening now with the excaliber and all the clones of this saw which is basically the Dewalt design. Slap a different sticker on the side of these saws and they come off the same line.

I didn't know the blade could be turned 90 degrees on the Dremel 1800? I had one of these that I used for about 2-3 years back in my learning days.. really wasn't a bad saw other than the rod at the back of the saw was held on to the upper and lower arms with roll pins.. and no bearings.. I had to replace the darn thing about every 6-8 months.. nothing more than a piece of flat steel about 1/8" x 1 x 8.. Dremel wanted $40 for the darn thing.. needless to say.. I only bought the first one.. when I took it apart I was mad because it wasn't anything special.. To make matters worst the thing was back ordered for a couple weeks and I had to borrow my brothers ryobi saw to finish a project... and all along it was something so simple I could have made in just a few minutes from my scrap steel pile, LOL
