jbrowning
How do you all have your shop vacs hooked up to your Hegner? I didn't worry about it today. But maybe tomorrow before I start cutting puzzles out, I will look into a way of hooking up my shop vac to it.
tonylumps
On my sc roll saws I am not concerned about the saw dust dropping below the table .I am more concerned about on top .So I have my air blowing towards the back of the saw where there is a house fan with a heater filter But I do use a Fein vac with a dust deputy for everything else.Either I use the tool start on the Fien or Remote contro.l If you use a Vac on the Hegner Make sure that the blade protector is up after installing the bottom blade clamp.I keep forgetting about it when I used the port Edited January 1, 2018 by tonylumps
Sycamore67
This is what I do and connected to a Festool HEPA vacuum.
Rolf
I hope your shop vac is in a different room or you wear ear muffs. They are way too loud for my taste. I know the Festool and Feins are expensive but oh so quiet. I did the same as Sycamore67 on my Hawk except I used mag switches to hold the setup to my table. I also added a trap for the small pieces that get sucked up that I didn't want to lose. I don't use my blower at all. Scrappile
Mine is a copy of the two above, on both my saws. The vac sits between the saws and I switch it back and forth to which saw I am using at the time. Probably the best thing I have done in my shop in years. Even though the dust extracter vac I have (Fein), is quiet, I still wear ear protection. The. noise of the air sucking is louder than the vac. I am very sensitive about my ears now that I am loosing my hearing. Little late, I should have been more cautious about it from the time I was young. Now I am just trying to save what is left. Yours has the ability to suck an blow. Rig the vac so can fasten the vac hose to the red nozzle piece under the saw, push one of the little hoses that goes to the top into the nozzle, there is a hole for it. Push the end of the other little hose into the bellows pump. Above the table you are blowing the dust towards the hose that is sucking the dust. It should work well. Paul hd
Shop vac straight into the side. I only use the tube from where your hose plugs in, I don't use the bellows. The blue articulating pipe for me is a must. So much easier to get that in to place than the stock tube.
