savethebeer
I had been planning on making lots of things this winter. And guess what? I've made nothing for several weeks now. There was the cold, there was the weather, there was Christmas, there was good things on the telly, there was the cold, there was several episodes of me and the sniffles, there were several episodes of others having the flu and the sniffles etc. I was using any excuse. I have a granddaughters 1st birthday, an 80th birthday, 2 wedding anniversaries all getting closer so I went out to the workshop this afternoon for the first time in weeks and I got productive. I feel like writing this on Bragging rights (not the items I cut, just the fact that I got off my backside and switched things on). I even used the new table-top belt sander (that I got 2 months ago) for the first time. Rockytime
I also got off my butt today and went out to my shop. Brrrr, I (quickly got my butt back in the house. 42 degrees and my radiant heater doesn't do squat!
Sycamore67
It is good to hear of someone getting back to making sawdust. I went in my shop and thought it was cold but nothing like you guys. It was 62 to start and then warmed up. I feel fortunate.
kmmcrafts
I just came in from working in the shop.. was a bit chilly out there at 10F.. good thing I was able to finish up my project within only a couple of hours or I could have gotten a little cold... I still have 3 custom orders to make.. hoping to get some of them or maybe all of them done tomorrow considering we have a heat wave coming in.. might have to wear shorts out there as it's supposed to get to 19F... Looking forward to those low to mid 30's that is supposed to get to next week.. that I complained about being cold a month or so ago, LOL Customers keep me out in the shop..by placing orders.. I don't willingly go out to work if it's below 30F.. Do have a little radiant propane heater that works well at keeping me warm.. other than my fingers.. So anyway.. customers typically keep me from getting too lazy... I have a ton of bookkeeping to catch up on here in the house where it's warm.. but.. procrastination has kicked in on doing that part of my job... Hate Bookkeeping but it's gotta get done for the Tax lady to get started so i'm not late on reporting my sales tax.. Uhggg LOL
WayneMahler
I was back in my shop today. Starting a new line of products and wanted to get started on them. That led into a little bit of cleaning and picking up ( much needed ). It is 6 degrees outside, no direct heat in my shop and was a comfortable 52 degrees. Thankfully it's the whole bottom of my house and the hot water pipes run across the ceiling which helps a lot. Jim McDonald
Since my shop is the patio and it has five inches of packed snow on it and the temps hovering at 0 F or below--I am looking for spring before I get to make any sawdust. Now for an emergency, I can cut in the junk room--just have a lot of cleaning to do later.
JTTHECLOCKMAN
Go to my basement shop whenever I want. No customers hanging on my back. Will be getting started on a few projects and will work at my leisure. Nice feeling. Have to go play the lottery.

oldhudson
Congrats! Great to hear that you got your ass in gear. I'm sure you know expression (based on Newton's Law's) "a body in motion tends to stay in motion". I'm pretty sure they apply to people too, so now that you're on the move, keep going. Be sure to post of pic or two of your work.

I'll grab any excuse to sit here by my computer rather than get all dressed and go out to my shop. But, the time is nearly here where I will get bored and once again get back to my creative needs. RangerJay
Got my second knee replaced just before Christmas so I've also been in a waiting game before making more sawdust - recovery going well but I'm getting tired of sittin' in front of the TV watching old dusters - decided to got out to the Shed just before noon today and fire it up (despite the cold) - projects-in-waiting that I am kinda excited about are: finishing up a fleet of Paddling Moose (all parts made for 15 Moose - just waiting for assembly and finishing); refinishing an antique desk (thinking its about 80% done) and; making a swinging cradle for our 1st grandchild (expected to make her appearance in late April). Have a lengthy list of other projects on my wish list but these are the three that will be done before anything else is started. Gonna be a busy and fun year.
