rljohn56
has anybody out there ever bought Studio Calico wood veneer letters, the 200 piece pack? the reason i'm asking is that i'm tired of having to buy a whole pack just for a few letter that they don't make enough of. according to the person i spoke to there they don't sell individual letters and that particular item is no longer sold. I now have a ton of letters like z, y, q, etc. and a few vowels which i need more of. I'm not knowledgeable on wood veneer so i don't know what kind of wood they used or the thickness. i have someone who can cut some, but i need to get him the wood. MrsN
is this what you are talking about? https://www.amazon.com/American-Crafts-Darling-Veneers-Alphabet/dp/B00AMHX2II I haven't seen these specifically in person, but typically when looking at the laser cut stuff like that it is made from something like 1/16" birch plywood. Lucky2
Ray, I'm sorry, but it's almost impossible to help you out with this request. We would at the bare minimum, need to know the type and thickness of veneer you require? We might be able to help a bit, if you had posted a couple of pics of what you're looking for. With pics, we should at least be able to figure out the grain. Personally, I have nine different types of veneers on hand, and you are welcome to some of it if it's what you need. But the veneers that I work with, are only about 1/16" thick, and in varying widths. Let me know if it will work for you, along with what type and how much you need. And I'll dig it out for you, and get you the price for postage to get it there. Len

NC Scroller
How big and thick are those? Per the info in Amazon they are 5" tall and 1/2" thick. If that is really true you can cut your own.
rljohn56
not even close! they are 7/16" high & 1/16" thick. i can't cut something that small, but again, there is someone i know who has a laser cutter that can. I just don't know what type of wood veneer that is so i can match them up.
MrsN
Those look like 1/16 birch plywood. It is pretty common in laser stuff. tomsteve
JTTHECLOCKMAN
Baltic Birch would work well for that. 1/16" will be tough. It would have to be a solid wood. White birch would be stronger than Balsa that is used also. Edited January 5, 2018 by JTTHECLOCKMAN
