jbrowning
Has anyone ever replaced their hose for the sawdust blower/sucker? If so what did you use? Mine is the old clear plastic tube that won't stay positioned where I put it. It has a mind of it's own. Oh and my quick clamp came in today and man that is so nice. Thanks again for everyone's help. Scrappile
Mine came with the "Loc-line" attached as you see. It works fine. It was mounted on the other side of the upper arm but I move it to the side it is now on. Not sure where you get the little brass fitting to insert into the hose and screw the Loc-line to. Should not be hard to find though. Maybe from Loc-line, maybe Home Depot, maybe auto parts store. tonylumps
Loc line sells from there site .But I bought some off of Amazon They work great .It is just a matter of figuring out what you will need to modify your saw OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
Hawk ( Bushton ) sells a kit for the older saws that had just the clear hose.. which has everything needed to convert it to a Loc line.. so I assume you should be able to get something similar.. maybe from Hegner ( though probably a bit pricey from Hegner ). tford
Hi Jim I have not had that problem with my Hegner, but I am concerned I will not be able to resolve it. I don't have much support for Hegners in South Africa. I was considering I may have to look at piping used on fish tanks should I require any replacements or home fixes. All the best Tyrone Edited January 6, 2018 by tford OCtoolguy
Dave Monk
Jim, I'm thinking that someone had set your saw up for using some type of dust collection and the original flex air hose was taken off. I may not know what I am talking about. OCtoolguy
Scrappile
I think if you go the Loc-line like in my picture you can even get that brass connection from an ACE Hardware. I was one this evening, looked in the plumbing section and they had a bunch of different sizes. jbrowning
Here is a picture of what I'm looking at. The piece I'm wanting/needing to replace is the clear tube that runs down to the table. All the other tubing is working like it is suppose to. Sorry I wasn't in the shop this weekend doing work inside the house. OCtoolguy
Scrappile
I see, well again, I would try to find a way to fasten some Loc-line to the metal piece that is clamped to the saw. Where the arrow points. Could the end of that metal tube be threaded? OCtoolguy
jbrowning
Hi Paul, the metal tube isn't threaded right now. OCtoolguy
jbrowning
Just an update. I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered the Sawdust Management System. Should be in next week sometime. OCtoolguy
JTTHECLOCKMAN
All that tube is for a vac system. Trying to catch dust with that small tube is a not worth the effort in my opinion. To me a vac on a scrollsaw is a waste of time and effort. I would get the articulating hose and just blow the dust away from you. When done scrolling for the day take the vac and clean up each day. saves wear and tear on a shop vac and the dust is not that much. Yes wear a dust mask but that is all I have been doing for over 30 years. Listening to a shop vac all the time is nerve racking to me. This is just my opinion. Good luck. jbrowning
The Sawdust Management System should come in to me next Tuesday. I am hoping this will work, due to my asthma I don't really care for blowing sawdust all over the place and yes I wear a respirator when I'm using the scroll saw. I put together a vacuum system for my Dewalt and I will do the same for the Hegner. It works so well with the Dewalt, I can't believe folks don't do it for their saws. Even if they have to put their shop vac outdoors to stifle the noise, it is worth it. And incorporating either a remote on/off switch or buying a plug-in that triggers the vac when sawing, it will make your life much better and ease your breathing problems. jbrowning
Hi Ray, when you get yours set up. Would you mind sharing with me. My shop vac sets right in between my Hegner and my Dewalt and I use it anytime my scroll saw is running.

I have a Fein in one corner of my shop and the long hose from it goes all the way over to my saw in the other corner. I set it up so I could use the vac as my regular shop vac too. I had to make some attachments for it because it came with nothing. A heat gun and a couple of regular attachments did the trick. Let me know if you can't find those pics. It's really pretty easy to make. I didn't glue any of the connections so that I could change it around if needed. Ray
