Cremation urn

You can design your Urn any way you desire, Mr. Sawdust. There are things to keep in mind during your design.

With mine, I always design them so that they have a permanent seal once the ashes are put in the Urn.

If possible, avoid pine or soft woods at all cost. JMO & experience.

Design it so it is large enough for inlays or designs, depending on What ya have in mind, or your customer desires. Like initials, a hobby, favorite sport, etc.

Design it w/some sort of "handle" on the sides, & lift on top.

Scott,

thx for your service to the veterans, do you have pictures of the urns that your organization make, thx RJ

I hope you can see these.  In the first picture the sweet lady had just finished making 6 urns.  As you can tell she was fighting cancer.  She passed about a month later.  She was a fellow scroller by heart and a very special person. On the side of the urn you see a circle.  We have laser engraved inserts (made and donated by another one of our members) we put in there representing the branch of service of the vet.   Most of the boxes are made of cypress that was also donated by one of our members.  The second picture shows the inserts we use.  The final picture shows one of our members presenting an urn to the family of a vet.  All the urns are provided totally free of charge.

The name of my group is NC Woodworker  (Ncwoodworker.net).  We are open to any wood worker in NC (or has a connection to NC) and all the states that border NC (VA, GA, SC, TN, WV).  And we are free.
