Brianr24
Pattern is In library from bigdogskitten11 lol. I don't like painting background board black on these type of projects. Iv been putting walnut veneer on luan and oiling it. I'm not sure it's worth the effort tho when u don't see much of it. I'm experimenting with a technique to try veneer front of basswood boards. I'm thinking of using the dato blade to take just the thickness of veneer off up to the bark area. Will be tricky and again not sure if worth effort.well sorry about the long post. stoney, jollyred, frankorona and 3 others
Lucky2
Brian, it looks good with the walnut backer, but I really do like a black backer. And if your making these to sell, your adding a lot of extra work to the project. Spray painting a backer is so simple and quick, and there's very little labor involved. DWSUDEKUM
Brian nice work first of all. Here is another idea. This idea is an off shoot of your router usage. Route out the area(s) that you want to have some color in and flock that area.. especially the deer body. This should give it depth and texture as well as color. Thanks for sharing this with us. rdatelle
Brian, that looks good with the brown backer. I also use a lots of black. I have different colors of felt and that's what I usually use. Felt is pretty cheap.
blights69
Great job on the cut I also use black a lot and spray my backers but I have added colours here and there too to make certain parts stand out a bit each to their own. Dave Monk
Very nice. One nice thing about this site is that you get a lot of opinions to get ideas to experiment with.
