Rockytime
I'm serious! I have trouble looking at the video then switching back to the program. Need two computers and for some reason it wont work on my tablet. So I ordered an Inkscape manual. Used from Amazon, $14 plus $3 shipping. Plan to learn if it kills me. I buy books for everything. I also watch a ton of youtube videos. Right now, I'm watching a series on how to make my own 3D printer. Finally something that I can have alongside me while I'm learning this software. I am going to print out a couple of the views that they offer for all the screen/tool options. That's where I have always had my downfall. I can't remember what tool does what. This is just great. Thanks again. Ray
Hudson River Rick
HI Ray, Can you PLEASE share how you are going to print the information that you want. I am sooo computer illiterate that it hurts, I'm using a Mac with Safari and I am not able to get this to print for me. I then went to see about purchasing the book and it seems that the book is no longer available. Thanks for your help. OCtoolguy

On the very upper right of the screen, second row down is a GEAR shape. R. click it & I get a drop down menu. First option is PRINT. When you get to print, carefully check which pages you want to print. Otherwise you could run out of ink & paper !! Another option would be Google "how do I print with a Mac". Also try typing this into You Tube. Hope this helps Friend. jerry OCtoolguy
OCtoolguy
I have a couple of "screen capture" programs that I use. The primary one is called Snagit but it's not a free program. The other one is called Jing and it is free but has limitations. Check them out. I have never been able to use the "printscreen" command and get what I wanted. Go to this website and there is an option for an ebook that is "watermarked" for a reasonable price. You can download it once you've paid. http://www.informit.com/store/inkscape-guide-to-a-vector-drawing-program-9780132764148 Also, here it is on Amazon if you want a hard copyl https://www.amazon.com/Inkscape-Drawing-Program-SourceForge-Community/dp/0132764148 Ray Edited January 11, 2018 by octoolguy
Hudson River Rick
Thank you Ray & Jerry for the quick replys. I noticed that the author is working on a new version, but has no release date. Jerry, it maybe because I am using a mac, but I don't get anything that resembles a gear shape and if I did it would probably print for the next week. Ray, I am a PRIME member, so I will be purchasing the book on Amazon. Thank you both again. OCtoolguy

For sure. Do you live anywhere near West Liberty? That's where my Dad was born. I might try to visit that place sometime before I die. Rockytime
Hi Frank, Check Amazon. There are quite a number of books on Inkscape. Like you I am a visual learner. Show me and I get it. This is gonna be slow but I'm taking a page at a time. There is much in Inkscape I will never use. It works well for a graphic designer.
