Rockytime
I went to Wally World this AM to buy shelf liner which I did find. While there I bought a couple of 1/4" bamboo cutting boards. I don't know how well they will cut but they are inexpensive. I could not buy the same at Woodcraft the the same money. I cut nothing that deserves more than pine or BB plywood. It looks nice. meflick, WayneMahler, Lucky2 and 1 other
meflick
Great find. I have heard others having cut them. Think they cut well for them. I will have to remember to check for them next time I make it into Wally World. WayneMahler

tomsteve
awesome find! you may find bamboo to cut easy but dull the blades a bit quicker. it can be high in silica, mainly in the outer layers of the stems, but also can have silica throughout.. it can also split or pull out, or tearout, the fibers.it sands real easy plus glueing ,staing and finishing is easy- no blotching or unevenness. cant wait to see finished pieces and what your experience with it is. barb.j.enders
I did cut some of the tablet holders with bamboo cutting boards. There was an issue with it breaking on the grain. Because they were for personal use, just glued it back up. meflick, tomsteve and Lucky2
MrsN
I have cut several things from bamboo cutting boards. Sometimes you can get really good deals on them at the tj max/homegoods type stores. You want to watch intricate cuts just a bit, there can be separation between the layers and weak spots. The plus side is that breaks can be glued up really well.
MrsN
I can't find the files, so a picture of a picture will have to do. Sam777, tomsteve, meflick and 1 other 3
JTTHECLOCKMAN
Lots of people use those and other figured grained wooden cutting boards for pen blanks. Turns nicely too.

WayneG
the cutting boards are not so bad to cut, same can't be said for Bamboo flooring, that shit is like concrete. I have done some things with them but not too much
