Hawk
I'm looking for a good source for sandpaper. Need some for my random orbital sander, belt sander, and 1 in inflatable Sanders Chris
Scrappile
I have purchased from here for disc, belt, sheet paper. I like their disc and belt stuff, for sheet, I still prefer 3M. http://www.woodworkingshop.com/
tomsteve
ya know, ive actually found the diablo sanding discs and belts at home depot are pretty good. stay away from menards sandpapers/discs/belts. they wear out quickly. for belts- i have found the harbor freight belts arent too shabby and a good price. i think the closest HF to ya is saginaw, though. actually probably closest home dept, too. its been a while since ive been there, but the tool haus in gladwin used to carry something like a house brand sanding disc. they worked real good for me. if ya want to shop online, klingspor https://www.woodworkingshop.com their choices are a wee bit overwhelming, but great prices. new2woodwrk
I bought the Klinspor bargain box for $20 - it's probably more sand paper then I'll ever use LOL Bu, it's an incredible deal - I can make my own discs, sticks etc. tomsteve

Hmm Menards sandpaper not good huh? Do you happen to know which brand you might be speaking of? My local Menards ( Battle Creek ) sells two brands of the velco type 5" round disc.. I think it's the shoptool or tool shop? something like that.. that i don't like.. but they also have another brand that.. well for the life of me I don't know what brand it is.. but I've switched to using it because it's been better than any of the other stuff I've found.. other then the high dollar stuff I get at the local Finish Master ( autobody supply ) place.. They have real good stuff but not cheap.. Had good luck with Harbor Freight papers as well... My belt sander papers come from Harbor Freight.. tomsteve
oldhudson
For standard size sheets, 9 x 11, I've been using Norton Job Packs from Rockler. For pressure sensitive rolls and disks, I go to www,woodworkingshop.com Large belts, 6 x 48, I get from ShopSmith. Gotta send some money to those who keep my old ShopSmith running. For my hand held belt sander, I get the ShopSmith branded belts from Lowe's. I think that's a 3 x 21.
Denny Knappen
I buy my sandpaper from Klingspor. tomsteve
Rockytime
Don't know if such a thing is made for belt and disk sanders and I will have to check it out, but for sanding by hand I only use Abranet. Great stuff. I use it on pens.

Okay yeah.. it's the green and white box.. I was thinking the name was shop tool or similar.. I'll look to see what the brand is that I buy from them.. that's been pretty good stuff.. for me anyway.. I haven't bought any in a year or better though so maybe it's changed.. I bought a small pack to try then bought a couple boxes of each grit in bigger packs.. I just ran out to the shop to see what I use.. It's Norton brand from Menards.. tomsteve
JTTHECLOCKMAN
I too buy from Klingspor but buy from other places as well. I have bought tons of sandpaper from http://www.onlineindustrialsupply.com these are always my go to people. I like the Mirka brand paper. I always buy belts when I go to woodworking show because these guys are there and they have show sales. http://www.ptreeusa.com/abrasive_index.html Not all sandpaper is the same and when working with wood other than scrolling you find this out. One word about ordering belts for sanders they do dry out and the glue joint fails so do not overstock. Not worth the effort and money in a long run. tomsteve
