Nice color - what finish did you use?

- but what is it and how do you use it?

Looks like a large tray?

Update: Ok found out - very interesting...

Pasta boards, also known as pastry or noodle boards, have flat, portable surfaces for dough to be worked and rolled. Some are made of marble or granite, while others are made from various types of wood.

That wood is beautiful and you did a great job. You make home made noodles on it.

not sure if oak is food grade with it’s open grain. But Wood that looks like that who cares lol. BB oil may help that. Nice work!

She wants it to protect surface of stove. So think it will be ok.

Was asked to make one and had to use google to see what they were.  Made out of quarter sawed curly red oak.  Finished with butcher block oil. 27”x20”

That is a beautiful piece of work - and you might already be aware - with some very minor modifications (or not) - you have yourself a very impressive wood-carvers lap-table:

The perfect choice  - pasta or carving .....

Life just doesn't get any better ......
