Wood'nt You Know?

Probably no big deal but this morning after breakfast and going to my car in the alley I discovered a small four drawer dresser. I grabbed the drawers. Taking them home I removed the hardware and now have a nice selection of solid wood boards. The reason this is a good score for me is it's 1/2". Don't know what kind of wood , probably pine. The sizes are convenient too.

Must be the lucky day for us.. on the way to look at some computer desk for my kids.. what was sitting by the road? a computer desk. only about 4 mile away..  even though i grabbed it up we went looking..because this one needs some repairs.. and it's just cheap press board or whatever that junk is called.. I'm tempted to just build one from solid wood.. and I just might do that..

You will enjoy that wood find and will have many uses for it.  A friend of mine probably a good ten years ago invited me to his shop and had some wood he would not use all of to small too thin he was a larger product maker. I got many many many broke down drawers various sizes and length but all oak.  I am still using the wood now I have about 15 five inch square pieces left. Oh it was all red oak. I also scored literally hundreds of doles various sizes Love friends and free wood. I found so many different things to do with the Oak so enjoy and put on your creative cap

Lucky you. All I ever find is junk particle board or some other manmade crap.

Picked up a cabinet of some sort - just up the street - when I started to disassemble, it was all MDF with a very thin veneer. Disappointed!!   Also picked up a nice end table that's solid wood. Too nice to take apart and cut up. It now sits next to my computer. Covered with papers, stapler, hole punch, calculator, scotch tape, and my folder of patterns. Anything in this house with a flat surface gets covered within nanoseconds.
