Len If the angle is right it doesn't require the groove or wood. I have made a few, none have any front support. Use mine all the time. Quote

Len Like Barb said, the angle keeps it from sliding when used on the table. If she uses it on her lap then there may be a problem. I pushed on the top front of the Kindle to try to get it to slip off and it stays in place. I found out this morning that there's a button on the bottom. I'll put a shallow recess across it that will be deep enough to stay off the button. Quote

Seems to hold well too. Um, so far. Quote
