WayneG
Was realizing last night that i need to do some spring cleaning in my garage soon and I thought you folks would like to see this box of cut offs from my scroll saw projects. Please note that I placed a meter stick along the ledge and from top to bottom so you can see it's a full size trunk. Lots of work to do....I think I may have a problem... Lol Did not know where to post it but thought it would be fun to post here with the hope of others sharing photos and brag of thier scrap wood piles just for kicks. Curious to see Kevins pic... Scrappile
I don't have any scrap wood. I burn scraps. I do have a huge amount of "someday I may need that piece" wood! blights69, meflick, Scrolling Steve and 1 other
DWSUDEKUM
Heheh I have like 8 boxes of things like that. I hate to throw them out as you never know when you might need a small piece of it in some project. One thing you can do if you have a table saw is to make up glue up panels and make bowls with it. new2woodwrk
I have too much scrap to take pics of LOL - it's in my shed, it's in my yard and it's in my shop/garage
Dan
Glue them up and cut mini birdhouses, ornaments, or turn pens. I also burn what I can't use. blights69 and Scrolling Steve
rdatelle
I think we all have boxes of cutoffs. I always find something to do with them. Dan, you have a great idea. Glue some up with different woods and cut some birdhouses out of them. I might just give that a try Dan. In fact, I got some ambrosia coming today for some bird houses. tgiro
I limit myself to what I keep, after cutting intarsia pieces. It can pileup really quickly. I know there are a lot of folks who take the smallest pieces and turn them into beautiful jewelry. But that isn't what I'm into. Having said that, I do believe the phrase "Ain't no such thing as Scrap Wood." Someone can take it and turn it into a workable piece. A friend of mine uses a lot of exotics in his furniture pieces, but he dumps a lot of cut offs. He adamantly claimed there wasn't much anyone could use his wasted wood for. I took that as a challenge and brought home an apple box of cutoffs from his shop one day. As an intarsia guy, I quickly realized there wasn't much going on in that box but since I also use my cutoffs for segmented wood turning - the box was a treasure trove. The result I took back to him, sort of astounded him as he, also did wood turning, just never thought of segmented pieces. BTW - he doesn't let me have any more cutoffs anymore. lawson56 and meflick

ScollSaw Slasher
That is one awesome piece of woodworking. Now I'm kicking myself for getting rid of the lathe because of disuse and need for room for my scraps LOL.
