Iggy, when I go to that link, the puzzles are very hard to see. They are very faded out and only one really was viewable.

LOL, that's the idea Ray, otherwise anyone could simply do a SAVE AS and use them at no charge. By being blurred, you at least get an idea of what it looks like, just as Wooden Teddy Bear does.    If you click the drop down and look at the AFGHAN that's the alternative solution, but... could that be copied and used as a pattern?  That's what I'm asking for feedback on.

Hmm.  I think it's really hard to see what it would look like, but a decent solution.  The other ones are so blurry, I wouldn't know what I'm getting.  Do you have any of these cut?  the best solution would be to have a picture of the finished project.  I'd shoot it at 3/4 angle so it can't be traced.  Maybe put a flag across it that says "Pattern Only" or "PDF Pattern" or something so folks aren't confused that they're getting a pattern, not the puzzle.  I'd also title the product to indicate it's a pattern.

In a perfect world I'd love to use photos of cut versions for them, just as in the puzzle section of my site where I sell the puzzles... But I have over 400 patterns now and I've only cut about 250 of them.  I can't cut the others just for the purpose of snapping a photo, I simply don't have the time unfortunately.

I think what Travis said would be best.. and if you look at the pattern sites like scrollsawartist.com or sheilalandry's site.. they show a finished piece or a colored ( simulated ) piece..

Now I realize you don't have all of these cut.. maybe someone that has cut them wouldn't mind sharing a photo for you to use.. Maybe just use a photo of the ones you do have and then when you sell a pattern ask for a completed photo for a discounted price or a coupon code for their next pattern order.. I don't know just throwing out suggestions so you wouldn't need to cut them all.. specially ones you wouldn't sell very well in your location.. Guess there's not a simple solution. but for the puzzles you do have.. I'd use a small photo of the actual cutting as Travis said..

Well, I tried to view all of them and the first one was the only one that I could see at all. The others were not "seeable".

Look at https://woodenvisions.com/ his patterns are blurry and watermarked. You may contact him for help on your site.

Thanks, I was actually chatting with Charles earlier and had him playing around with one of the patterns to try to skew it, watermark it, etc.  He was helpful and I'm still brainstorming with him.

Could you do something like this.  Your main picture is under 200px.  That makes it difficult to blow up and still get details.  Then for the second picture, have it about 400px that's zoomed in to show some details so they can see what they're getting.

Nice... how did you snag that image of the Afghan?  It's from WTB?

Iggy, IMO you're making this more difficult than it needs to be...

Are you using Digital downloads?

Use this app - display your images with the watermark, once they pay, you send them a download link to the image(s) without the watermark

Just got off the phone with Shopify - easy to do

Hope that helps

Thanks, yep, using digital downloads.  The delivery of the patterns isn't the issue.  I'm trying to display/show each pattern for buyers so they can see what it looks like, but it can't be in a format that they can simply right click and SAVE AS and snatch it for free.

You can disable right clicks on your page - However, there is still a way for them to get the image if the knew how (which I do).

Perhaps I'm not understanding the issue - aren't the watermarked images enough protection for you?

I appreciate the ideas... I tried another app that disables right clicks, but guess what the work around is... Snap a photo of your screen with your phone, download the picture, past it into Word, print it and boom, you have a perfect pattern.  LOL  Now you understand my dilemma trying to find the best way to do it.  And this is what I'm going with...  https://www.woodcraftbyscott.com/collections/scroll-saw-patterns/products/puzzle-patterns-dogs-a-k?variant=2187441930255

That's what folks will see, get an idea of what it looks like, then when they order, they get a clean version emailed to them automatically.

I'm done now, I've spent way too much time on this, and now I have to spend several days adding the watermark to 425 patterns.  :-)  Who wants something to do this weekend?  LOL

Email the patterns to me and I'll work on it with you.

Those all came out great. Very clear and precise but with your mark over the top of them.
