Dave Monk Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 I bought a light with my Hegner last Sept. Somehow the cord got pinched and blew out the light. I really liked it and like how it mounted on a bracket that came with the saw. Advanced Machinery wants $169 plus shipping for a new one. Does anyone have a source where I can get one for less? Harbor Freight has one for about $40 that comes with either a clamp bracket or the post for the Hegner mount. Dave Monk 1 Quote

Sycamore67 Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 (edited) I bought an Ottlite with 2 lenses. I looked at others and the optical quality was not as good. The one I have is easy to see thru with a fairly large area which is in focus. More expensive...yes but easier on my eyes. I bought my light at Joann Fabrics and used one of their 40% off coupons. I also found that for me, I did not like the light attached to the saw. The vibrations from the saw in the news cause eye strain. I mount the light on the work bench next to my saw. That little flickering from vibration drove me nuts. OCtoolguy, Dave Monk and Bpardue 3 Quote
Bfreeman Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Dave I just replaced the lamp on my hegner I looked at many lights but finally settled on a Luxo . It uses the same mounting bracket . The magnifying power is 5 diopter. I’m very happy with this light. No more headache. Bill OCtoolguy and Dave Monk 2 Quote

Advanced machinery want $169 plus shipping for a new one. I'm having a tough time spending that much. I will admit that I am tight at times. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
