I once saw a motor bike pull out of the Big Orange Retail Giant (BORG) parking lot. The guy on the back had four 10 foot 2x4's balanced on his shoulder. They made about two blocks before a cop pulled them over. I drove on by, so didn't see if he let them get away with it.

Kevin is that how you haul your lumber from Johnson's Workbench?

Did you spot me going down I-69

I sure wish I had bought more during the wood expo.. I typically buy it for the year... Guess I projected not to be nearly as busy as I am.. I'll be lucky if I make it to the end of this month. :o

I never ever thought about doing it that way. Around where I live though, there are no quiet country roads to use. By the time I got home, the car would be junk and I would have a load of kindling.

Back in the early - mid 70's my dad picked up a pole ( may have been a utility pole ) that was like 30 -40 foot long.. He had a old long bed Dodge pick-up...  He rolled the log out in a open area where he could drive the truck over it.. then he ratcheted it up under the truck and chained it there.. I'll never forget playing tag with my brothers out in the front yard as he came up the road. with this big pole sticking out the front ( and back ) of his truck, us kids laughed about that for a long time.. and still joke and talk about it from time to time..  LOL.. Lucky that this was out in the boonies and he only had a couple miles to go like that, LOL.. Probably would get a big ticket for something like that these days..
