I found they are selling these, but the one here in Jacksonville and Collinsville Illinois don't have them in store or online. They are supposed to notify me if they get them.  the other one I found is the Excelsior out of Canada. Is there any difference in the two at all?  Besides the price ?

Having owned many saws from old Deltas to DeWalts to the Hawks and now the EX-21 I picked up late last year.. If I could only have the one saw.. I think I'd choose the EX-21.. I like each saw I have for different reasons and cutting styles.. but the one and only comfortably using saw for every style of cutting i do.. for me.. the Ex21 fits that bill best overall.. Yes there are a couple of things I don't like about the EX too.. But like I said overall it's the simplest and most user friendly saw of all those I have.. for the type of cutting i use the saws for.. If I was stuck doing portrait work all the time in thin stock.. then the Hawk is a nice fit.. If I was cutting thick material and wanting to cut fast.. The Dewalt is my choice. but the Ex will do both of those with ease..

I think you'll be very happy with the EX-21

I think I have settled on the 21" Excalibur.  I'm just waiting to hear back from a few places.  I have found out that my  wife has been secretly saving money for me to do this for awhile now.  She already has half of what we need.

Good luck with this.... if indeed you can find one to purchase, you are one lucky guy. However, I believe that you will probably discover you will be informed that they  no longer have one or can even get one for you.. I would call them now and see what they say before you get your hopes too far up

Your only options that I know of is the Excalibur in the 21 inch saw. The stores that sell the excelsior cannot ship those to the USA ( I tried that before they brought back the Excalibur) .

As for the HD not having them at your store online yet. They ship these either to store or to your home. So if you really want one you need to change your store to one that sells them I’m thinking then have it shipped to your home. Or make the purchase through Rockler who also sells them. Other option is going bigger or smaller to the King brand from woodcraft. Which might be the better deal right now since they are giving a free stand with the purchase of the saw. Maybe they are running this deal for the Excalibur too?

I finally got it.  I had found it online at the Woodworkers Shop in Pekin Illinois. It was their display/demo for awhile and they had it for sale. I thank all of you for your input it all helps.   I love it. This is definitely worth the money.   Now that these are discontinued, in case I need parts anyone know where to find them?  Probably from King?

Actually Seyco still sells parts.. most of the main parts are the same as the Seyco saw.. too.. and also King would be a source of parts..

I don't think discontinued is the word.  Part of General is now Chinese owned.  China and Taiwan are not really best of buddies, so the Taiwan Manufacture just kept on making the saws for everyone but General.  General had to bring up a whole new production line in China, which they did, and those saws are now on sale at Home Depot and Rockler.  So, it looks like two completely different manufacturers are making the saw.  At this point, since King/Excelsior/Carbatec/Axminster/Pegas are still coming from the same factory, and the Excalibur line in new, I think I would trust the Taiwan saws over the Excalibur branded saws.

So, all that to say, you can buy a brand new Excalibur by General today, but I'm not sure you would want to.  And if you want to by parts from the manufacturer that originally made your saw, that would be the  Taiwanese flavor, or King in the U.S.

You suppose this will cause some headaches down the road for those that are buying used saws.. Suppose they'll be marked with where they are made.. This will certainly have me on the lookout if I was purchasing a used EX.. That said.. I doubt I will be buying any saws for quite some time.. since I have plenty around here.. some still quite unused.. I want to try a Henger someday.. but doubt I'm going to be buying anything for a few years at a minimum.. LOL

So, who is selling the ones made in Taiwan? That would be the one that I would want.

The Excalibur named ones are now made in the "new" China  location.. Believe they only offer the 21"? Anyway all the other brands are still made from the same company as they was always made in.. At least that is my understanding of it.. Probably why King never offered the 21" to USA.. as there was some deal from what I had heard between general and King to not bring out a 21" saw from what I gathered in all the discussions I've read about it..

Just avoid the new Excaliburs if you want to stay with the original factory.  That said, I don't know that there is anything wrong with the new Excaliburs.  Some brave sole needs to test the waters . . . .

King/Excelsior,  Seyco, Jet, Carbatec, Axminster, and Pegas are all still made in Taiwan and are the safe bet right now.
