OCtoolguy
Hey folks, I just had something occur to me and I thought it warranted this new topic. We all have our "nicknames" and either pictures or some other artwork on our posts. But, most folks who post don't sign their actual names. I always try to sign my name to my posts. It might be nice to know each other's real name so we can refer to them as such. I have picked up on a few names but most are just a nickname. After seeing all the posts and topics by New2woodwork, I have no idea what his name is. Just as example here. Not picking on him at all. So, what say all of you? Names or nicknames? Dan
Well, when folks don't post their name I look at their profile. Then I learn a little more about then. To me it's not a big deal if they don't post their name, but that's what makes everyone unique. I was going to say the same thing that Dan already shared, if I want to see their real "name" I click on their username and it will take you to their profile page and usually you can find their first name there. While there, you can also learn a little more about them if they have shared anything there that they care to share. Also, some of us have done like Tony noted and have added our first name to our signature line. It does help to be able to call someone by their name but I don't mind using their username if that is all they are sharing. Rockytime
I'm guilty of not signing my name. I just forget to and I will try to correct that. However, I am always wondering just how some of you got your nickname. Rockytime came about as a result of my repairing clocks for over 40 years in the Rocky Mountain area (Denver) Rocky Mountain Time. Lucky2
My avatar name is Lucky2, but I always sign any messages with my given name, Len. I would like for people to include where they're from in their avatar, it makes things more understandable, when you know where they live. Especially, if the person is talking about the weather, or some other happening in their area. Len OCtoolguy
JTTHECLOCKMAN
It is a matter of filling out that info in your profile page and it comes up every time you make a post. I had to look up Jes 's name when his topic came to light and thankfully he had in his profile. OCtoolguy and new2woodwrk 1
