OCtoolguy
Well, it seems that I might have opened some sort of a can of worms. I never gave a thought to looking up everybody's profile. I may just be lazy or it takes too long or whatever. But, it just seems easier to see a name when I read a post. I do thank all of you who have played along. I added my name to my signature so now I don't have to anymore. But it will be a hard habit to break. tomsteve

Gonzo
I'm Gonzo, I'm the one in my avatar. I entertain people. Hopefully they will laugh, smile, or even forget about their troubles, if even for a very short time. I'm very proud of my profession AND my character. Quite a few people call me Gonzo when I'm not in costume. I just happen to be a clown that does woodworking. Gonzo came about because of Gonzo on the Muppets Show. He's my favorite character. According to him, there's only one of his type in this world. Very unique indeed! or you can just call me... "Tim". Oh wait that's from Monty Python and The Holy Grail. Now I'm really confused. Gonzo PS i personally like seeing the nicknames. It's fun to see what people come up with. A lot of them are very original. Kind of like back in the day when everyone had a CB and they used "Handle's" and not their real name. "The purpose of fun is to have it". Anonymous. (I think I'll put that in my tag line) SCROLLSAW703
SCROLLSAW703
You hit it on the head, gonzo! Ya may be standin' beside somebody who's broken inside, & don't even know it. Sometimes all somebody needs is to make them smile & grin just to forget about their problems for awhile can be a lifesaver. I'm speakin' from experience. Folks like you are more appreciated than you truly realize. Keep entertainin', brother! Over the years of trucking, I had two different cb handles. One was farmer bcause I wore overalls all the time, & the other one was bulldog. Several of the drivers I ran with at the last company I spent my last 12 years of drivin' decided since bcause I'm short legged, stout in the chest & shoulders, & kinda gotta "might bite ya" attitude," they started callin' me bulldog, & it stuck with me. My name is Brad, when I ain't in trouble. When I'm in trouble with my bride, I'm "g** da****** Bradley Wayne! So ya can kinda take it from there. stoney
I agree Ray I like to refer to members post by addressing them with their first name when possible. My posts are signed with my nickname as well as my first. I will answer to either as long as I get called to dinner. OCtoolguy
RangerJay
Well ..... at various times in my life I have been called "Blue Jay", "Jayce", "Jacob", "Jason", "Jasonian", "Leather", "Ranger" or "Ranger Jay" ..... but more recently ..... now that I am grey haired, walk with a bit of a gimp - and from time to time use a cane - I am very regularly called "Sir" or "Mr. Leather" ...... and finally ...... if the batteries need to be changed in my hearing aids my wife gets my attention by shouting "HEY!!" ..... Guess the upshot is ..... you can call me pretty much whatever you darn well please ..... I always sign my posts with my first name, and the GPscroller was what I came up with in a hurray when first visiting SSV. Not very creative since under my avatar stated I live in Grande Prairie, I know, not one of my best moments Jeff OCtoolguy
jollyred
I got my nickname in the military, 45 years ago. I am a ginger, and was the tallest in my unit. The Jolly Green Giant was a popular commercial at the time, so the others in my unit started calling me the Jolly Red Giant. I have shortened it to just Jolly Red. My real name is Tom, which is a lot more boring. Phantom Scroller

I have a koozie that just has the initials O P on it, but in much smaller letters it has - following the O (ld) and following the P (hart) - ph as in elephant. I tell my grand kids that it stands for O ld P erson. My memory is so good that I remember things that never happened. Very few people call me Charlie - in fact, no ever has because my name is really Wayne. And that's all I need to say about that. justdraftn
Hi....I'm just....draftn. Road cyclist. Riding in someone's draft is the sweet spot. You use 60% less energy. You take your turn at the pull then drop back and draft. You can call me whatever you want.... just don't call me late for dinner.
