This is a pattern from a book by Patrick Spielman. 1/2” Walnut.  Any ideas for a color background so you can see it better?

A beautiful piece!!!  Def a light color to make the stain pop. Not a white but maybe a creme or a colonial style color like a mustard or linen white. 

Can't wait to see it completed!

i thought that was purpleheart for a minute.

 

colors for a background.....hhmmm.... im thinking a pale cobalt blue, which probably has a jillion other names to it.

or maybe even a line green. or maybe even an orange.

 

something like that i think id take to somewhere like joann fabric or michaels- some place with a plethora of different colored stuff like posterboards and cloth- and do some serious complicating.

Great piece as for a backer colour I would go straw coloured Thanks for showing us

Hard to say about a backer color, would stick some different color poster paper behind it and see what looks best, hard to say by the color of the wood.  Cutting looks super.

Looks good to me the way it is. What ever wall you put it on will be your back ground.

Very nicely done.  A light green or light blue would do the trick nicely.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thanks again everyone.  My wife and I tried different colors I still don’t think you can see it very well but here’s a few.  I didn’t cut it out on the last two.  Looks like it has to be the white.
