Popular Post justdraftn Posted March 29, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted March 29, 2018 You know how when you....well, maybe not you.....but me for sure....get that itch for a new toy........you.....well, maybe not you...but me for sure.....you get the new toy before you know where you're going keep it. When I stumbled onto the idea of getting a scroll saw to use for the really fine work on my band saw boxes, I, of course, had to scratch that itch. At just about that time, I had purchased the materials to build a new cabinet for the planer. As I suddenly had a second toy for my tiny shop...what to do? Remembered seeing some fliptop cabinets on Pintrest. It did not take much time to find the one I wanted. Got it up and running this afternoon. Still needs drawers. Not sure I'm satisfied w/the knobs. ....so, far, very satisfied w/the effort. jollyred, Falcon, new2woodwrk and 7 others 9 1 Quote

new2woodwrk Posted March 29, 2018 Report Posted March 29, 2018 Good for you - looks great1 I love those flip carts and have been wanting to make one for the longest time - I've made 3 rolling carts for my tools, but don't think I have the skills to make that flip cart! justdraftn 1 Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted March 29, 2018 Report Posted March 29, 2018 Very nicely done. I have seen a similar project but it had 3 decks instead of just the 2. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW justdraftn 1 Quote

meflick Posted March 29, 2018 Report Posted March 29, 2018 Nice work. My hubby made at least one of those - I think he put his jointer on one side and the planer on the other side. Like yours, it is also on wheels (as is pretty much every tool in the shop). He kindly did it when he was making room for me in HIS shop for my scroll saw(s) and additional sanders for the Intarsia work. I won't show him your pictures with a scroll saw on it, he might get the idea that he could put both of my saws on one and reduce my allocated space! justdraftn 1 Quote
RabidAlien Posted March 30, 2018 Report Posted March 30, 2018 Okay, now THAT is AWESOME!!!! justdraftn 1 Quote
justdraftn Posted March 30, 2018 Author Report Posted March 30, 2018 Thanks! all for the comments. I have impressed myself w/this one. I needed the planer yesterday to mill the material for the drawers... it takes less than a minute to switch the machines. Created a couple of drawers. Nothing fancy. I had to stretch my cabinet from the plans for the length of the ss and the in/out feed tables for the planer, I have a drawer on each side. RabidAlien, meflick and new2woodwrk 3 Quote
