Popular Post Dave Monk Posted April 1, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted April 1, 2018 I was so excited to see our first Hummingbirds last weekend here in Justin, Texas that I had to finish up a project that I have been working on. It is a handmade, inlaid picture using a combination of maple, cherry, cedar, mahogany and poplar woods. dgman, stoney, Gonzo and 14 others 15 2 Quote

spirithorse Posted April 1, 2018 Report Posted April 1, 2018 Spectacular work! I cannot imagine how hard all those various areas would be to cut or how long a project like that would take. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse Dave Monk 1 Quote

Spirithorse When I first got this done I was not pleased at all. There was not enough contrast in the hummingbird...I knew I would never be proud of it so I redid the bird. The toughest part for me was the little inlays on the wings and tail. Including redoing it..took me about two days to make it. I made the pattern off a picture that probably took me another four or five hours. Quote
