Creative Woodworks and Crafts was my favorite one.. too bad they ceased the magazine..

Though I half wonder if even if they didn't stop.. if I'd continue the subscription..  The way they lay out the patterns in the books makes it difficult to scan and print .. without taking the whole magazine apart..  I really wish they'd go digital with many magazines.. simply put.. I can store many magazines on a disc in the amount of space it takes to store only a couple of printed magazines.. Plus side would be they could have a index that would show what designs etc. are in the magazine and easily found patterns, not to mention... easier to print the patterns... Or.. with a yearly subscription they send you a digital version every year as well as the print.. so at the end of the year you'd receive a disc with the years print on digital.. as a bonus to get people to subscribe yearly they could include some extra in the digital version.. ( ie they typically used to send subscribers a holiday special version... maybe not offer that in the print.. so everyone would get a bonus to subscribe..

Maybe I'm just a pack rat.. because I hate to toss out the magazines.. especially hate to toss out the paper patterns.. yet the boxes of magazines I have takes up a large amount of space..

There is a German scroll saw magazine called Feinscnitt.

I subscribed several years ago but did not renew because there was a paucity of puzzles.

Otherwise it is an excellent publication. One of the issues I received even included some blades.

I ordered online - it takes a while because the subscription page is in German.

And the magazine is totally in German.

I'm similar - a pack rat and love to save my magazines - they do take up too much room, and I usually will get rid of them after 5 or so years :(

I think the internet is the cause of the demise of many publications. Web sites, you tube and other digital media. Even TV has been a big impact. I used to read Look and Life magazines. I used to have the Britannica encyclopedias and dictionaries. Now, who needs them?

I still have my Britannica's they cost me so much I have an aversion to throwing them out and the charities don't want them either

Hi Les:
I used to have all those too but then I got married and SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) knows it all
P.S.
If you don't see anything else from me on this site, it's because SHE read my quote......LOL

There is, or was, or was supposed to be, an e-magazine that you can still see advertised here

https://www.scrollsawartist.com/?subcats=Y&status=A&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&match=any&search_performed=Y&q=e-Magazine&dispatch=products.search

I am unsure if this is from Sue Mey personally or what but, I have read NUMEROUS bad reviews about people being ripped off. They pay for the subscription and
then don't receive anything. All I can say is Buyer Beware

Let us know if you find anything in your search and God Bless! Spirithorse

yea, mine too, Rocky! Mine has kept me on a short leash since I had to quit truckin'. She says after 30 years of never bein' around, shes finally got me home, & shes keepin' me home! We'll see a clean black Pete all polished up pullin' a new shiny bull rack, or a reefer all shined up & polished that'd make a young man drool, & the first thing out of her mouth is don't even think it!:(

I keep most of my scroll saw magazines, wood workin' magazines, etc., unless there's nothin' in them that catches my eye. Most of them are in the lamp stands here in the living room. I've got some in boxes in the basement, & a few in the shop. I've always kept them around for ideas & customer work.

I too have wayyyyyyyy too magazines and I am looking for a place to sell them or give them away. I hate to throw them away. I use to get so many wood magazines and after awhile they all talk about the same things and become redundant.

Didn't that scrollsaw club use to have a magazine. Scrollsaw Association of the world or something like that .??  Does anyone still belong to that?? I remember when they first started and they tried getting everyone to join and create this huge scrolling club. Whatever happen to that???

Believe me Les, we have had this conversation many times. Now, after 49 years of wedded bliss, we just take turns being right. Or wrong. Whatever.

I just got rid of a ton of old American Rifleman and Gold Prospector magazines at our local library. I took the time to cut off the address label and they were happy to get them. I won't let go of my woodworking mags though. They will go in the ground with me.

Ray

That's a great idea!

I have a bunch of model trains mags I don't read anymore!

I have several of sue Mey's e-books as they a free easy to get and fast. You just pay for them and receive them in a down load in a couple of minutes. They are a good value and I trust Sue totally.  Infact she is so honest that is you log isn't her Web site every time you purchase something from her, she gives you a personal file of your purchases and if you lose your patterns in your computer, you can download them again.

Thanks for the link, Katie,

Does anyone here receive the Scroller's Choice magazine (Print or PDF)?

I'd like to hear about your experiences with delivery and content.
God Bless! Spirithorse

I looked at the price - $44.00 for 4 issues and thought twice about the purchase :(
