wombatie Posted April 15, 2018 Report Posted April 15, 2018 Terrific work. Well done. You know there has only ever been one pattern that beat me and it was an Indian, I have not tried it again but I am thinking that I should. Marg meflick 1 Quote

new2woodwrk Posted April 15, 2018 Report Posted April 15, 2018 Good job Lew - I think you've found your niche! Or at least what you enjoy the most. Thanks for sharing Quote
Rockytime Posted April 15, 2018 Report Posted April 15, 2018 I don't think you have to worry about too many American Indian portraits. I really like them. What is the wood you use and what is the finish?. It makes the portrait so believable. Quote

This piece was stained with MInwax Gunstock stain and finished with Tung Oil. A lot of times I will stain and paint the surface, then do a bit of sanding to mix the two. Sometimes I finish with a brush on shellac or spray on glossy sealant. Always trying different finishes and sealants....never quite satisfied!! Heavy black poster board for the mount. Quote
