Rob
Deer cuttings seem to sell well for me and as we are in the middle of the "Roar" I thought I would cut this one again. Pattern is by Gayle from Scroller's Cafe. Thanks for looking. frankorona, Dan, new2woodwrk and 4 others

Pretty well everything I cut is from recycled timber. I am lucky in that I can often find old drawer boxes in native New Zealand Rimu which I buy up for about $5 each. Rimu can vary quite a lot in appearance from dark red to yellowish brown with streaks to quite a pale bland sapwood. Usually I will finish a piece by dipping it in Tung oil or Boiled Linseed Oil mixed 50/50 with white spirit (mineral spirits in US) which brings out the colour and grain. Just for fun, here is a picture including one of the cutout pieces so you can see what a transformation the BLO makes. If you do decide to try BLO please read up on safety first. Rags or paper towel soaked in linseed oil can spontaneously combust! Rob new2woodwrk
